PURPLE POSIES

Materials/Techniques: Batik background quilted by Beth Hartford practicing free motion swirls. Vase is a scrap of purple satin, appliquéd. Flowers were made using a technique in the March/April 07 Cloth Paper Scissors, wire stems, beaded centers, and bound in a commercial print.

Artist's Statement: Everybody needs a vase of pretty flowers sometimes! I offer these to cheer up the difficult days of those who care for loved ones with Alzheimer’s.

This quilt earned $155.00 for Alzheimer's research.
